Our community thrives when everyone feels safe, respected, and supported. These guidelines help us maintain a positive environment for mental health discussions.

Core community principles

Respect and Empathy

  • Treat all members with kindness and understanding

  • Remember that everyone is at a different stage of their mental health journey

  • Avoid judgment, criticism, or dismissive responses

  • Use "I" statements when sharing personal experiences

Privacy and Confidentiality

  • Don't share others' personal information

  • Respect when someone asks for privacy

  • Avoid identifying yourself or others by full names

  • What's shared in the community stays in the community

Appropriate Content

  • Keep discussions focused on mental health, wellness, and personal growth

  • Avoid graphic details of trauma or harmful behaviors

  • No promotion of self-harm or dangerous activities

  • Share resources and support, not personal crises requiring immediate help

Professional Boundaries

  • Community members are peers, not therapists

  • Don't provide medical or clinical advice

  • Encourage professional help when appropriate

  • Expert contributors will identify themselves clearly

What's not allowed

  • Harassment, bullying, or discriminatory language

  • Spam, self-promotion, or advertising

  • Discussing illegal activities

  • Sharing content that violates others' privacy

  • Trolling or deliberately disruptive behavior

Reporting concerns: If you see content that violates these guidelines, please report it using our reporting feature or contact [email protected].

Consequences

  • First violation: Warning and education

  • Repeated violations: Temporary suspension

  • Severe violations: Permanent community ban

We're all here to support each other's growth and healing.
